Visa Extension
Mandarin Center provides free visa extension service
for our students.
Notice for Visa Extension
Here we have something very important to tell you about
this service, in order to make it more efficient and convenient
for you.
To students who need to extend visa via Mandarin Center:
1. What you need to provide us:
Your passport, your “Temporary Residence Permission” (the “Yellow
Sheet” with the police seal), a 2 inch photo (3.5*5.3 cm), a correctly
filled application form (fill and confirm it at our reception
desk).
2. How your new visa will be:
We will make your visa into “F” type, which is for business. And
it will be extended to the time around when you finish your course
in Mandarin Center. Our center needs to bear responsibility for
your activities in Shanghai, so you must pay for your course (to
ensure you study here and the duration) before we can extend your
visa, and we won’t extend your visa too longer than your course
duration in our center. The longest extension for one “F” visa
in Shanghai is 90 days.
Please mark your requirement for entries of your visa in the application
form. More entry cost more fee charged by visa center.
3. Time to deal with it:
Provide us all these materials 7 – 14 working days ahead of the
expiry date of your visa.
It usually takes 3 working days for the visa center to renew your
visa, but we will not go to the visa bureau until we’ve collected
several visa affairs around a similar period, and deal with them
together (of course before any expiry date of these visas).
*Pay more attention to official holidays and
your traveling plan. Sometimes it may take 3 days + official holidays
for the visa center to extend your visa. You may need to use your
passport or visa in some occasion e.g. book a ticket, during that
period. So please count the time to extend your visa carefully
and be sure you won’t need the original passport or visa from
the time you give it to us till you get a new one. You can ask
us for help if you are not so sure about what you should do even
earlier than 14 days ahead of its expiry date.
4. To get your new visa:
After the delivery of your passport, we will bring back a receipt
(the “white sheet”) of your visa and your “Temporary Residence
Permission” (the “Yellow Sheet”, remember to renew it when you’ve
got a new visa, spent 1 entry, or moved to a new place, for the
next visa extension).
You need to go to the Bureau of Entry & Exit Administration
in person with the receipt and pay for the extension (printed
in the receipt, charged by the bureau according to your visa requirement).
